70 Women Await Maternal Health Cash Incentives

People in Indra village, Churchu Block,
Hazaribag district, are not receiving the medical facilities promised by the Janani
Suraksha Yojna to pregnant women. According to this scheme, If pregnant
women living in remote areas undergo treatment or check-ups at any Government
maternal healthcare centre of their area, be it, a nursing home, primary healthcare
centre, community healthcare centre the District Government Hospital or
a state-certified hospital are entitled to receive a sum of 1400 Rs. after being
admitted in the hospital for 48 hours. I delivered my daughter at a Government
Hospital but I am yet to receive the sum of 1400 Rs I was supposed to receive. I have sent 2 applications, with 2 photos of
myself and my daughter, even now I haven’t received any money. 70 women of Indra village, leave alone 48
hours, even after 2.5 years are not receiving the benefits of the
Janani Suraksha Yojna. We are facing a lot of trouble. The Govt
says 1400 Rs is our right, so we are asking for it, but we are
not getting it. There are so many problems it takes a whole day to go there, the
children are left alone at home and weep If the Govt wishes to give then it can
give, but if it wishes to stop it then please do At least we won’t be running from pillar
to post then. Why should we run around? There are no transportation facilities
here either. I appeal to all you, viewers of this video to call Dharmvir Prasad, Civil Surgeon
Hazaribagh district on 9431361851 and help us in solving the problems here. I am Chunnu Hansda, Hazaribag, Jharkhand
for India Unheard.
