How to Replace the ALS Board | HP EliteBook 840 G5, G6 Healthcare, 848 G4 | HP


Before you begin: Remove the base enclosure, battery, wireless LAN module, wireless WAN module, display panel assembly, hinge cover, and display bezel or touchscreen. Removal Peel back the foil that covers the ALS board. Using minimal force, lift the locking bar up on the ALS board ZIF connector and disconnect the webcam ribbon cable from the ALS board. Using a non-metallic flat-bladed tool, carefully remove the ALS board from the adhesive and alignment pins that secure it to the display enclosure. Remove the ALS board. Replacement Place the ALS board onto its alignment pins and gently apply pressure to the ALS board to adhere it to the display enclosure. Insert the ALS board ribbon cable into the ALS board ZIF connector and press the locking bar down to lock the cable into place. Replace the foil that covers the ALS board.
