How Trump Threatens A Woman’s Right to Reproductive Healthcare

Did you know that since 2012, the Affordable
Care Act’s contraception mandate has saved women $1.4 billion dollars per year on birth control. This mandate has given women access to a variety of free or low-cost birth control options
that work best for them. But under president Trump and a republican-controlled Congress, women’s right to healthcare is
in jeopardy. When we win on November 8th, we will be able
to immediately repeal and replace Obamacare. If the Affordable Care Act or the contraception mandate is repealed, millions of women will
be forced to pay full price for costly birth control. Low-income women, young women, and women of color will bear the brunt of this, worsening
already existing health care disparities in these communities. So, what do we do about it? For starters, women who have health plans that cover birth control can go out now and
get a low maintenance, long-acting birth control method, sometime called a LARC without additional
cost. These methods are safe, worry free and effective. But if a LARC isn’t for you, there are also a number of other options to choose from like
the ring, patch, or pill. Low maintenance methods like the IUD or the implant, can last anywhere from 3 to 12 years
depending on the type. Some well past a Trump presidency. For women who don’t currently have health insurance or access to affordable birth control
you can enroll now! Go to www.healthcare.gov to learn more. All women should have affordable access to reproductive healthcare. Share this video if you agree.
