Romney and Republicans on Women’s Health: See a Pattern?

Republican Senate candidate Richard Mourdock says pregnancies resulting from rape are a gift from god. And I think even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen Mourdock’s position is the exact same as Paul Ryan’s, and it’s also the same as the Republican
party’s platform Do believe the Supreme Court should overturn Roe v Wade? Yes. I do What about in the case of rape? Should it be legal or not? From what I understand from doctors that’s really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down. Paul Ryan, along with Atkin, cosponsored the Sanctity of Human Life Act. It’s a so called personhood amendment.

He do so as recently as 2011 Now that bill made no exceptions for rape, or incest, or anything else. A record that includes votes to prohibit abortions for women who have been raped or are victims of incest. I am proud of my pro life record And, I stand by my pro life record in congress, it’s something I’m proud of. Would you have supported a constitutional amendment that would have established the definition of life at conception? Absolutely. There is no such exception as life of the mother. And, as far as health of the mother, same thing. Some women across Virginia are outraged as Governor Bob McDonald signs that controversial bill requiring women seeking an abortion to first undergo an ultrasound Why on earth are we giving 363 million dollars in taxpayer funds to planned parenthood?

  1. These people are zealots posing as a politcal party..
They fail at every function of government.
    They don't take responsiblty.
    They don't negotiate.

  2. For a comparison of Europe’s strategies to deal with the economic down turn with Romney’s economic model do an Internet search for:
Romney’s Economic Model by Nicolas D. Kristof—The New York Times

  3. Am not hoping but if it happens that one of these guys daughter or niece raped by a black guy I wonder if they will keep the black baby. Would they?

  4. Tea Party-Ayan Rand-Neo-Cons-Right-wing Evangelicans politicians, political profiteers and opportunists. I am conservative…these people are not conservative.

  5. I cannot comprehend how a woman could possibly vote for Romney. Not only is he against women's reproductive rights (even birth control, I believe), but he's against fair pay for women (because they apparently need to leave to cook dinner for their kids) and would restrict other rights of women as well. I'm tired of this thought that men are superior to women and I can't believe that about half of the country actually agrees with him!

  6. Your scare tactics are analogous to George W. Bush's campaign scare tactic. Remember: "A vote for Kerry is a vote for terrorists." "If you don't support Bush you are unpatriotic." It's funny funny to see the pattern of campaign scare tactic desperation if you are more independent like me.

  7. Ya, because everyone should vote purely on the ability to abort and on the extremely small chance that any SCOTUS would ever ignore 40 years of precedent since Roe. OR is it that no intelligent person could possibly be extremely concerned about the level of debt in the country and the obvious lack of concern the Democratic party has for lowering the debt. But ya you're right, anyone who doesn't agree with you is an idiot if they have a vagina. If they have a penis though who cares right?

  8. What you said just now, isn't scare tactics, those are legit policy points. Calling them the "taliban" is scare tactic. I don't think the taliban is having a debate over whether the pill should be free or whether parents should be notified of a minors abortion.

  9. Rape pregnancies are the will of God and the woman should accept it?? Becouse some guy says it's Gods desition?? WHAT ABOUT THE PEOPLE WHO DON'T BELIEVE IN GOD?? Should they accept what another guy says from his religious point of view?
    This is insane!

  10. Well, if you have a penis and you have women in your life that you care about (daughters, mothers, nieces, wife, etc) then maybe they should care. There's no greater turn on then a man who stands up for a women’s rights.

  11. Yes Mr. Mourdock, rape is a horrible situation as you well affirm, so why don't you let the woman get out of that horrible situation freely instead of obliging her to stick with that which she did not ask for????

  12. I do indeed, and I spend every day supporting my wife in law school. But I recognize that some voters may have other concerns and don't have to be idiots to disagree.

  13. But you're suggesting that somehow Mitt Romney is going to make this "taliban" like behavior worse. 5 of the past 6 murders occurred under the Clinton administration, none during the Bush years and one during Obama's term. It seems like either way we've got that "taliban" fringe. They're already in town.

  14. My mom & sister are both Mormons, and they also support Obama. So do the Mormons for Obama group, if you wanna check them out.

  15. No its not, there is nothing alive until 24 1/2 weeks. Even the whack job scientists admit its probably 22 at lowest.

By your logic Sweetcorn is a meat.

  16. "From what I understand from doctors, that's really rare. If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down." Apparently Todd Akin, Missouri State Candidate doesn't seem to understand a whole lot. Rape does not affect pregnancy rates. If you have sex willingly or unwillingly, you have the same odds of getting impregnated. There literally is no possible way for a woman's body to "shut that whole thing down." Someone educate this man on reproduction.

  17. I know that a zygote will most definitely grow into a human being.
Would you be alright with Capital Punishment, if they only killed retards?

  18. Really? Why not? If the woman decides to keep the baby, I'm on the hook for child support. Is that fair? These are decisions that affect BOTH parents. To leave them in the hands of one person is wrong.

  19. WHERE in that demented fucking head of yours does that analogy even remotely make sense. Your buddy Bush certainly had no problem executing the mentally challenged though. Highest record of executed "retards" in Texas history. You GOP scum must be very proud of yourselves…

  20. So wishing that my mother killed me off, makes you pro-life? Where do you stand on the death penality, legalizing assault weapons, starting wars in Iraq, killing abortion doctors? After forcing a woman to carry a baby to term that she violently does not want, are you in favor of the gov providing her any assistance in caring for and raising that child? Do you think a woman should have any control over her body, or is this strickly your decision to make or a "small" government issue to regulate?

  21. Other than the fact that Mitt Romney is staunchly pro-life, I don't see a pattern. That is his belief and he ought to be applauded.

  22. THis is their belief; do you have a problem when someone has the power of his convictions, believes that something is right or wrong? The sad thing is that you vote with your vagina and not your head. They have mothers and daughters, sisters and aunts, just like a liberal..

  23. What do you mean I’m voting with my vagina? What is your point? What is your argument? They can believe whatever they want as long as they don’t make it policy. A vote for these people is a vote against women’s rights. Yes I am a liberal tree-hugging hippie who is very much pro-choice.

  24. Why does my being female have anything to do with my being an idiot since I supported them? They have views, know that they couldn't toy with the Constitution (repealing Roe).. Pro-life is a belief, not a legislative stance.

If I were you, I'd be worried about people who legislate women's issues, like the House and Senate. Occasionally, the SCOTUS justices legislate, so I'd worry about justices who tend to legislate from the bench. Historically, justices who do this are liberal.

  25. The majority of conservative Republicans want to make abortion illegal. A portion of conservative Republicans don't even want birth control to be easily accessible. Conservative republicans want to legislate based on their beliefs. As long as the house and senate legislate 'for' women's rights and not 'against' then I have nothing to worry about. I don't think you're actually an idiot, just misguided.
