Women in Health: Mothers

My name is Rita, I am from the village Upari Gaonli. I have two children — twins — and they’re one-and-a-half years old. They were born at a health centre. Our ASHA worker, Komal Kashyap, told us that today was the immunization day for young children. On immunization day, I start early and travel around 10 kilometres to come to the health centre. My husband works as a driver and sometimes he also accompanies us for vaccination. As ASHA workers tell us, we get our children vaccinated to protect them against deadly diseases. We have a good rapport with our ASHA workers, they regularly call us or visit our house to tell us about how and when to get our kids vaccinated.
